Trees, Water & People (TWP) Support Services
Personal Coaching for Watershed Leaders

Personal Coaching Services will again be offered to Colorado watershed groups under TWP’s Protecting the Water of the Arid West (PWAW) project—a two-year initiative funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Targeted Watersheds Capacity Building Grants Program. This support is intended for leaders of watershed groups in Colorado. References from last year’s program are available.

Marc Alston is TWP’s coach for watershed leaders. Marc will be at the Sustaining Watersheds Conference in Vail Oct 1-3 to discuss coaching.  Here are the basics of Marc’s coaching.

What is coaching?  Coaching is an ongoing partnership that helps you to address your biggest challenges – such as leading confidently and effectively, building a sustainable organization, identifying and sticking with high priorities, and Board or staff relations. As a coach, Marc provides a focus on priorities you identify. We can cover change, finding balance, building awareness and strong habits, and practicing/doing. You choose to have a coach for one reason: to do and be your very best. Marc listens to you, challenges you, and empowers you to take action. Your organization has an investment in you. If your work is enhanced, your group benefits.

What about Marc?  Marc is a trained and experienced professional coach, is on the CWA Board, and has a strong watershed background.  He has worked with over 45 clients, mostly leaders of environmental nonprofits, over the past 4 years.  Based on consistent client feedback, Marc’s coaching makes a difference in their jobs and lives. Much of his coaching really comes down to helping you with self-management, and strategizing on how to accomplish goals. You select your own goals. Marc is effective because his only goal is your success.
