Eagle River Restoration Project at Edwards. Phase I of the restoration of channel characteristics and riparian habitat on the Eagle River near Edwards. Designed by Walsh Environmental and sponsored by the Eagle River Watershed Council, utilizing "Natural Resources Damages Suit" funding from the Eagle Mine Superfund clean-up.
Black Gore Creek Sediment Best Management Practices and the "Basin of Last Resort." Black Gore Creek on Vail Pass is an impaired stream due to slope erosion and sanding practices along I 70. The tour features impacts and projects to reduce sediment load and restore stream function, including the new project which will remove tons of sediment from the Black Gore channel near Mile Marker 182. Sponsored by the Eagle River Watershed Council, Colorado Department of Transportation, and RiverRestoration.org.
