September 28-30, 2009: National Summit of Mining Communities

Due to the challenging economic times we are facing, limited funding and the recent survey results from past NSMC participants, the Summit planning committee has decided that it is not economically feasible for Leadville to host and facilitate the National Summit of Mining Communities in 2009. It is the hope of the committee that the national economy will improve and the Summit can continue next year in an alternate venue.

The committee realizes that the information the National Summit of Mining Communities provides is still invaluable to mining communities. Therefore, the Summit website, www.2tough2die.com, will remain active, updated and will offer a “Virtual” Summit in 2009.
