The Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program safeguards lives and property from floods, drought, and the products of erosion on any watershed whenever fire, flood or any other natural occurrence is causing or has caused a sudden impairment of the watershed.

The September 2013 floods devastated communities in Colorado, and the work to rebuild and recover is a long one that will ultimately result in stronger, more resilient, better prepared watersheds. There are numerous resources to assist those affected by the floods and a many ways for those who want to help to get involved.
