Southwestern Water Conservation District is pleased to sponsor the 27th Annual Children’s Water Festival taking place May 14, 2025, at Fort Lewis College. It’s a science conference that focuses on water in our world. The Festival is geared towards 5th grade students, features exhibits and many hands-on presentations highlighting a variety of water-related topics. The goal is to provide a better understanding of water resources, and the value and importance of water. To help make this event the success that it is, approximately 30 volunteer guides are needed to lead close to 750 regional fifth-grade students and their classes to various water-related stations on campus. Learn more or register to volunteer HERE.
Missed the April 2025 CWCB Climate & Water Workshops? Watch the recording HERE. These workshops served as a touch point between state and local partners on water and climate adaptation issues in Colorado and will inform a forthcoming Climate Impacts Report.
The CWCB is requesting your participation in a very brief survey about training needs for Fluvial Hazard Mapping. Before offering more FHZ training this summer and fall we hope to better understand the needs of the practitioners and planners that are in the field making these maps and using this information. Please take a few minutes to complete our survey - it will help us help you. We encourage you to respond either as a team lead and/or to share with members of your team to complete individually. The more input, the better. Access the survey here: https://forms.gle/HPRojvcpEQwkRnaZ7.
