July 11th-29th, 2022 | Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) Colloquium | The Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E). The Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E) would like to announce the Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) Colloquium, which will be held 11-29 July 2022 at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California. July 12, 2022 | Barr Lake Water Quality Boat Tour. Join for a 1 hour boat ride on the water talking about the history and water quality of Barr Lake.  This is a FREE event but a park admission fee is required.  Please meet at the Barr Lake boat ramp at 3pm.  For more information and to RSVP, please e-mail Steve Lundt at slundt@metrowaterrecovery.com.

July 13th, 2022, 5-7pm | Community Concert: San Juan Mountains Association + Nuages Du Desert Jazz & Swing. Six La Plata County nonprofits serving the environment sector have been selected to benefit from the 2022 Community Concerts in the Secret Garden at the Rochester Hotel. Community Concerts pairs a nonprofit with a local music talent on Wednesday evenings throughout July 13 – August 17 to offer a fun evening of entertainment. Food and signature cocktails provided by the Rochester Hotel will be available for purchase. The 2022 Concert Schedule is available above. 

July 14, 2022 | Plains Farm Tour Lunch n’ Learn. This tour will explore the interface and interaction between agricultural water usage, food supply and resilience at the urban edges. Join us on the working farm undergoing conversion and learn about their innovative work to reduce water demand to manage water and other resources more sustainably. Agriburbia’s goal is to create and integrate 30 million high quality, highly successful farmers in both urban, suburban and rural environments and thus improve both human and planetary health.

July 18, 2022, 5pm | Trout Fest Colorado | Coors Field in Denver. On the evening of July 18, Colorado TU will be hosting its first Troutfest event - taking place at Coors Field in Lower Downtown Denver! Individual General Admission tickets are $25 and include ballpark food with cash bar available for drinks. VIP Admission includes expanded food offerings and 2 drink tickets per ticket + VIP seating. July 23, 2022, 9am-1pm | Guided Wildflower Walk in Governor Basin | Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership. Join UWP Board Member and wildflower guide author Mary Menz on a walk in Governor Basin to learn about the plants at that high elevation, near a mine site restoration project planned by UWP. A donation of $35 per adult is requested to support UWP's activities. Learn more.
