The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking to hire a Water Quality & Conservation Specialist. The Water Quality and Conservation Specialist supports and coordinates programs and services to enhance water supply resiliency and watershed health for the City of Steamboat Springs Water and Wastewater Utility through public education and outreach, data analysis and policy development, and long-term planning initiatives. DWR Dam Safety Engineer (PE II) - The Dam Safety work unit’s primary purpose is life safety protection, specifically, to protect the citizens of Colorado from potential dam failure floods. Additionally, safeguarding the safety of dams ensures that water resources in reservoirs continue to be available as a vital life resource for the citizens of Colorado. Currently, over 2.1 million Coloradans live below dams within the potential dam failure inundation zone. Given the high consequences associated with this purpose, the work unit must be able to provide a high degree of assurance that the design, construction, performance, and operations of reservoir dams in the state has minimized the risk of potential dam failure(s). Little Thompson Water District is seeking a Water Resources Manager. This position will perform water resources tasks such as planning, organizing and directing a variety of water resources activities including securing and maintaining water supplies of quality and quantity sufficient to meet the District’s needs. Areas of program responsibility include coordinating the development of long-range water supply plans, alternate water supplies, regional partnerships, and dry-year supply planning. State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources, Division 5 Colorado River Basin, is now accepting applications for the following position: Lead Hydrographic Scientist (PSRS III). The position exists as the staff authority to manage scientific hydrographic expertise of approximately 50 hydrologic/research gaging stations operated/maintained throughout Division 5 to provide accurate streamflow data/monitoring required for compliance with numerous Federal and local agency projects and extensive division-wide primary and tributary river/stream administration. The position acts as the authority and directs the Division 5 hydrographic program in which hydrographic technicians analyze and assure quality of continuous data compilation, along with development and publication of annual streamflow record data in accordance with United States Geological Survey and State standards established by the Division of Water Resources. The position determines the most appropriate measurement method, implements the construction of new research gaging stations and provides program management and oversight of all streamflow and diverted water measurement devices and equipment including calibration, monitoring, and repair of stage sensor and satellite transmission equipment, measurement method analysis and protocol, inspection of water measurement structures for accuracy, correction of observed problems and programs to collect data required for water supply forecasting in various watersheds throughout the Division.
